Terms of Use
This text is the contract between you and the publisher of OYRO. It is written to be read: if a passage seems unclear, write to us rather than guess.
What OYRO is
OYRO is a private visual sharing app: you take a photo or a video and send it to the people you added. There is no public feed, no recommendations, no follower counts.
The service is free. Some features may become paid later; communication between friends, blocking, reporting and safety will stay free.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- An account is personal. You are responsible for what is sent from yours.
- You undertake to give an accurate date of birth: that is what protects younger people.
- You can close your account at any time from the settings.
What you undertake not to do
The Community Guidelines detail forbidden content. In short: nothing that harasses, threatens, sexualises a minor, incites hatred or violence, deceives or defrauds. A few technical prohibitions are added:
- do not attempt to access content that was not addressed to you, or to bypass the service’s authorisations;
- do not automate use of the app, or create accounts in bulk;
- do not extract data from the service at scale;
- do not use OYRO to spread malware or fraudulent links.
Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to what you create. You grant the publisher a licence strictly limited to what is necessary to operate the service: storing your content, delivering it to the people you choose, and displaying it to them. This licence is free of charge, non-exclusive, and ends when the content is deleted.
No content is used to train an artificial intelligence model.
Ephemeral is not a security guarantee
Moderation and measures
A report is reviewed by a person. Depending on what is found, the content may be removed, the account warned, suspended for a set period, or closed.
- A measure concerning you is visible in the app, with its reason: you have the right to know why.
- A temporary suspension lifts by itself at its deadline.
- You can challenge a decision by writing to contact@oyro.dev. We answer.
- Reported content is kept while it is reviewed, even once it has disappeared from the app. This is stated on the reporting screen.
Availability
OYRO is a young service, provided as is, with no availability commitment. Interruptions, loss of content while sending, or feature changes may occur. We give notice when we can.
Liability
The publisher cannot be held liable for content sent by users, nor for what a recipient does with what they receive. Liability can only arise from its own fault, within the limits permitted by law. Nothing in this text sets aside the rights the law grants you as a consumer.
Ending the relationship
- You can leave whenever you want: Settings → Delete my account.
- The publisher may close an account in case of serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where the law requires it.
- A closure does not remove your right to request access to your data or its deletion.
If these terms change
A substantive change is announced in the app before it takes effect. If it does not suit you, you can close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first: write to contact@oyro.dev. Failing that, the competent courts will be those provided for by law. Jean Claude Volcy is established in France.
